Growing Communities Dagenham Farm

Growing Communities Dagenham Farm is a working organic farm in the heart of Dagenham. We grow fresh veg including tomatoes, cucumbers, salad leaves and strawberries (in season).

We encourage local residents to come to the farm to find out more about food growing – to learn new skills, brush up old ones and meet other local residents – you can also buy fresh produce.

You can drop into our Open Farm Sunday sessions any Sunday from May to November between 11am and 3pm to buy fresh produce or to try your hand at food growing. You can also come along to our Wednesday volunteer sessions from 10am-3pm. We ask new volunteers to come along at 11am sharp on a Wednesday for an induction and intro to the farm. There are a variety of tasks and also a delicious free volunteer lunch every Wednesday.

We have a range of tasks available suitable for all abilities and levels of fitness.  We accept volunteers of any age –however any volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Adult volunteers must be capable of working unsupervised for periods of time.

As well as selling produce at the farm on Sundays between May and November – we also run a farm produce stall at Dagenham East station on Thursday evenings 5pm-7pm (starting from 7th June).

Reclaim at the Lane

At Reclaim at the Lane we have three main aims:

To ensure that residents in our communities on low incomes have access to good quality furniture at low prices, enabling them to create comfortable and happy homes.

To provide access to volunteering and training opportunities, to build stronger, more resilient communities and support people into paid employment. Our ambition is that one day soon Reclaim at the Lane will be run by the local community for the local community.

To help the environment by reusing furniture. In the future we aim to also repair or upcycle items that come to us.

We are a social enterprise and part of East Potential (registered charity number 105314), funded by a combination of self-generated income and the generous support of East Thames Group. Every penny of profit generated goes straight back into keeping Reclaim at the Lane running and enabling us to offer volunteer and training opportunities.
