Barking Hospital offer a specialist service for young people under 18 years old.   It is a Walk In and Wait clinic, but appointments are available if you prefer on 01708 503838

The team can offer advise and information on all sexual health related matters and services including;

  • Young people are welcome to attend our usual Walk In and Wait clinics on: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays that all start at 13:00.

Loxford Polyclinic (sexual health clinic)

As part of Queens Hospital Outreach Service – we offer a range of free and confidential services for the diagnosis and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections, and a comprehensive contraception service, including services which may not be available from your GP.

Each person is seen and treated confidentially as an individual to discuss, in a safe and open environment, sexual health and well being, so they feel empowered to make informed choices about their sexual health. .

We offer walk-in and appointments for people who may have been at risk of sexually transmitted infections or would simply like screening for infection, or who require contraception.

Our service includes:

– HIV testing

– Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections

– Free condom supplies

– Pregnancy tests

– All forms of contraception including long acting reversible contraceptives and emergency contraception

– Psychosexual counselling for impotence and other sexual health conditions

– General advice on safer sex

Positive East (HIV specialists)

Our aim is to be there for you whenever you need information, advice and support.

Our HIV prevention service offers free, fast and confidential HIV tests.  No need to book, just turn up, we do a rapid blood test and you’ll get the result immediately.  Not only that. our trained staff will offer support to help change any behaviour that might put someone at risk of HIV or STI’s.

We offer a twice weekly (Tuesday and Thursday) outreach support service within the HIV clinic of Barking Hospital, as well as a dedicated Barking & Dagenham support group. 

We can also offer employment advice, counselling and psychotherapy.

Telephone advice support

Our trained advisors are available on the telephone, via email or through face-to-face meetings at our main centre in Stepney Green, or at our outreach advice clinics across East London.

We can help with:

information about HIV related issues, including benefit advice, housing issues and employment law.

support to access health and other governmental and local authority agencies.
