At the Barking Debt Advice Centre we offer a free debt counselling service for residents of Barking & Dagenham and the surrounding area.

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial conduct Authority and are a member of Communtiy Money Advice.  The Barking Debt Advice Centre was established through St Patrick’s Church and open to everyone.

  • Information and advice on welfare benefits, housing, debt and money, employment, discrimination, family, consumer, tax, immigration and more
  • Information and advice on welfare benefits and debt for people experiencing mental ill health.
  • Hate crime advice, advocacy support to victims of hate crime incidents
  • Outreach Income raising clinics at 8 Childrens Centres.

All residents of Barking & Dagenham who are over 16 are eligible.

Money Advice & Educational services in the form of 121 Benefits, debt & money guidance advice, financial capability workshops, money mentoring & money champions training.

Referrals taken for free 121 advice appointments (capacity permitting). Money management workshops for groups of 5 – 15 (1 free workshop per community organisation). Money mentoring & money champions training at cost to community organisation (contact to enquire).
